Dear Parents Lingfield Primary is currently closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Like other schools nationally, we are providing childcare to our parents who are critical workers. From everyone at Lingfield, thank you to all the critical worker families, your efforts are appreciated more than words can express. To our parents who are working at home and are juggling childcare, a huge well done. We fully recognise that these are challenging times and that you are all being asked to do things you would not normally be expected to do. To support you all, staff at Lingfield are working very hard to provide activities for you to do at home with your children. The next set of plans are being created and will be sent to you directly and also uploaded on to the school website under the ‘School Closure’ menu. We hope you find these plans and activities useful in the weeks ahead. Please remember, there are lots of opportunities within the home for children to get involved in daily routines, from helping prepare meals and washing up to helping with cleaning and keeping their bedrooms tidy. Being active and playing in the back garden in also really important, the Joe Wicks daily workouts are invaluable in supporting activity. The biggest single thing we would ask of all our families, is to encourage your children to read every day. Access to high quality reading material on a regular basis is probably more important now than it ever has been. With everything that you are doing over the coming weeks, please just try to find a balance. We wish all our pupils and families well at this time, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Phil Thackstone Head Teacher
